TBDI – Big Data Meetup on March 7th

We had our Big Data meetup on 7th March Friday starting 4:00pm PST at Spireon office: 17600 Gillette Ave., Ste. 100 , Irvine, CA.
We had 2 very interesting session lined up with industry keynote speakers.

Session 1: Solving the Big Data problem – By Joe Baird
What’s the Problem, Man?  How the kinds of answers you are wanting to
find affects all aspects of your Big Data plan. Is it just a cost reduction or larger
storage or performance?  Is it answering the same questions a little
bit better or faster  Is it finding some new insight about customers
or the market?  Beginning with these ends in mind dictates the kind of
people, skills, technology that will be required.

Session 2: Big Data Analytics – By Dr. Sathi

Dr. Sathi will be presenting Big data topic around Marketing Intelligence. The Big Data tsunami is already hitting organizations—a set of disruptive technologies to drive game changers. Business leaders across the globe are seeking answers to the following questions:
• What is Big Data and what are others doing with it?
• How do we build a strategic plan for Big Data Analytics? • How does Big Data change our analytics architecture?

About Dr. Sathi:
Dr. Arvind Sathi is the World Wide Communication Sector Architect for Big Data at IBM®. Dr. Sathi received his Ph.D. in Business Administration from Carnegie Mellon University and worked under Nobel Prize winner Dr. Herbert A. Simon. Dr. Sathi is a seasoned professional with more than 20 years of leadership in Information Management architecture and delivery. His primary focus has been in creating visions and roadmaps for Advanced Analytics at leading IBM clients in Telecommunications, Media & Entertainment, and Energy & Utilities organizations, worldwide.
